Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is celebrated on May 15, 2025, to promote digital access and inclusion for over one billion people with disabilities worldwide.

Carlos Duarte, LASIGE integrated member, has actively participated in various GAAD programs. During the morning he took part in the session “Technologies to break communication and interaction barriers to access virtual worlds”, included in the webinar ‘Webinar – Digital inclusion and accessibility: Leaving no-one behind in virtual worlds and the cyberspace’, organised by ITU (International Telecommunications Union).

In the afternoon, he will give a talk at Hi Interactive, an OutSystems partner that provides applications with a fantastic user experience, on ‘Practical accessibility for all’, to explore how digital teams can take accessibility from theory to practice.
