Isabel Neto and André Rodrigues, LASIGE integrated members, and Manuel Piçarra and Pedro Trindade, LASIGE PhD Student, participated in the Youth Paralympic Day on October 11, 2025, in Matosinhos, Portugal.
Paralympic Youth Day is a project whose main objective is to recruit new athletes, young people with disabilities, for Paralympic and Deaflympic sports and to mobilize communities across the country at a local level (schools, care institutions, clubs, etc.), involving municipalities throughout mainland Portugal. Young people with disabilities could try out 20 several sports as wheelchair basketball, boccia, canoeing, cycling, curling, goalball, etc.
Our researchers showed the work being developed in research line Inclusive Human-Computer Interaction (IHCI), that gathers all the contributions that seek to evaluate or design interfaces for people with disabilities or people suffering from situational impairments, engaging visitors in many demonstrations.
