João Bimbo, LASIGE integrated researcher and faculty member at the Ciências ULisboa, was one of the organisers of the 14th edition of the Conference on New Technologies for Computer and Robot Assisted Surgery (CRAS 2025). The event took place at the University of Lisbon from September 10 to 12, 2025.
CRAS is a leading international forum that brings together researchers, engineers, and clinicians to explore advances in robotics, artificial intelligence, and surgical innovation. This year’s edition highlighted emerging developments in AI-assisted surgery, virtual and augmented reality for training, planning and guidance, novel robotic hardware and sensors for less invasive and more complex surgeries, and human–robot collaboration in the operating room.
