International Thank-You Day is celebrated on January 11 every year. This observance aims to foster a global culture of gratitude by encouraging people to express their appreciation through the simple but powerful act of saying “thank you.” It serves as a reminder to acknowledge the kindness of others, from close friends and family to coworkers and strangers. By highlighting the psychological and social benefits of gratitude, the day promotes stronger community bonds and personal well-being.

LASIGE would also like to take this opportunity to thank its PhD Students’ Commission for yet another initiative, this time a solidarity campaign. A collaborative hands-on activity was carried out, painting Christmas decorations, at the “2025 LASIGE Highlights and Christmas Gathering“. The activity was widely attended by various members of the unit, and an auction and fundraiser were held, with proceeds going to these eight Portuguese Institutions: Ajuda de Berço, Animais de Rua, Aldeias de crianças SOS, Cruz Vermelha, UNICEF Portugal, Ajuda de mãe, Sociedade Protetora dos Animais, APAV.
