The ‘Complexity as a Kaleidoscope 2026’ workshop took place in Lisbon from 30 July to 1 August, immediately prior to CCC’26, was organized by the LASIGE researchers Bruno Loff and Suhail Sherif. Over the course of three days, the event brought together researchers interested in examining computational complexity from different perspectives, fostering curiosity, the generous exchange of ideas and scholarly discussion.

Inspired by the spirit of the Bourbaki seminars, the workshop reversed the usual format of research presentations: rather than speaking mainly about their own work, presenters discussed theorems, results or papers by other authors they admire, explaining the motivations, ideas and significance of these contributions.

The program also included five-minute talks, in which participants shared brief tributes to results that had left a lasting impression on them. The workshop thus created a space complementary to the conference, dedicated to the exchange of perspectives and the development of new research conversations.
