LASIGE was invited by Direção Geral do Ensino Superior (DGES, Directorate-General for Higher Education) to participate in the “Study and Research in Portugal” initiative, to support the promotion and dissemination of Portuguese higher education, institutions, and national educational offer.

This international promotion intends to assist higher education institutions attracting international students and researchers, promote Portuguese higher education and facilitate the establishment of partnerships and strategic cooperation, as well as intensify the activities developed abroad in this context.

Our researchers answered to this challenge and shared their experiences. Muhammad Asif, from Pakistan, former PhD Student and working currently as a Bioinformatician in a private company, not for profit research-intensive SME in the area of Biotechnology and Life Sciences, shared the following (testimony #1):

"I have been working with Portuguese research centers and companies for the last 6 years. It has been a great journey because of the mentoring environment, technology awareness, and professional growth, coupled with multinational exposure. Portuguese institutes are providing a good platform for establishing careers in emerging sciences. Happy to be a part of a continuously evolving community."
