LASIGE was invited by Direção Geral do Ensino Superior (DGES, Directorate-General for Higher Education) to participate in the “Study and Research in Portugal” initiative, to support the promotion and dissemination of Portuguese higher education, institutions, and national educational offer.

This international promotion intends to assist higher education institutions attracting international students and researchers, promote Portuguese higher education and facilitate the establishment of partnerships and strategic cooperation, as well as intensify the activities developed abroad in this context.

Our researchers answered to this challenge and shared their experiences. Kornelia Ufniarz, from Poland, a LASIGE researcher collaborator shared the following (testimony #5):

“Starting my research journey in Lisbon was possible thanks to the website www.eracareers.pt where I could find various job offers. It was easy to contact people and institutes. The hardest part of starting my career was obtaining the mandatory diploma recognition. It was hard to get in touch with the institution responsible for the diploma recognition and know what documents are required. The people at the University are approachable. All meetings are in English so I feel welcome and included.”
