António Casimiro, LASIGE integrated member, was invited by the Resilient Computing and Cybersecurity Center (RC3) at KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology), to visit the university, to give a talk in May 30, 2024, and to meet with several RC3 researchers.
The talk, entitled “ML-based Network Intrusion Detection Systems: Resilience threats and a mitigation approach”, addressed recent work done at LASIGE by PhD student Allan Espindola with his supervisors in the context of both the Cyberphysical Systems and the Dependable and Secure Decentralised Systems research lines of LASIGE.
The visit also served to discuss collaboration opportunities and to strengthen the ties between LASIGE and the RC3 Center, which develops concepts and mechanisms to increase the resilience of critical information infrastructures (CII), both classical (cyber-physical systems) and computer-based (the emerging Internet-Cloud complex), against sophisticated threats.
