Cátia Pesquita, LASIGE integrated member, was one of the Portuguese women scientists chosen to take part in Ciência Viva’s ‘Women in Science’ project, which portrays scientists from the most diverse areas of knowledge.

Portuguese women scientists represent 45% of all researchers in our country and their outstanding work has been fundamental to the progress that national science and technology have made in recent decades.

This tribute began in 2015 with the Women in Science photography exhibition taken by photographer Luísa Ferreira, and aims to inspire young people to follow their vocation.

The public exhibition will open on 8 March 2025 – International Women’s Day – at the Pavilion of Knowledge.
