Last May 4th, 2026, the first Cybersecurity Workshop was held at Ciências ULisboa (FCUL), resulting from the collaboration of researchers from LASIGE & Reykjavik University (RU, Iceland) in the context of the master’s course Methodologies Offensives and Defensives for Cybersecurity (MODC), administered by Ibéria Medeiros. The workshop focused on Malware & Honeypots, one of the subjects of the master’s course, and the areas that researchers have jointly been investigated.
The workshop provided, besides the interaction between MODC’s students and researchers, an opportunity to discuss forms of detecting malware using honeypots, including their classification and attackers’ behavior understanding.
Miguel Faísco (PhD student), David Guilherme (MSc student), and Ibéria Medeiros, from LASIGE, and Hans P. Reiser and Niku Nuuti (PhD student), from RU, are the researchers involved in this collaboration.
