LASIGE’s focus is on strengthening and expanding current protocols and contracts with institutions in the business sector and on creating technology-based innovative spin-offs in key areas, such as Accessibility, Privacy & Security, Data Science, and Biomedical Informatics. LASIGE has been increasing its direct collaboration with the public and private sector, establishing direct contracts with government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, telecommunications companies, health software providers, and high-tech industry. Recent examples of LASIGE’s knowledge transfer efforts are the participation in the CoLAB Smart Energy Services Innovation Hub, and the LxDataLab. LASIGE collaborates with TecLabs, the business incubator of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. This collaboration has resulted in the creation of innovative technology-based spin-offs (ex: Vawlt).
