LASIGE post-doc researcher João Sousa has been announced as the winner of the DSN 2019 William C. Carter award for his PhD dissertation on “Byzantine state machine replication for the masses”, which he also developed while at LASIGE.
This award is given by the IEEE Technical Committee on Dependable Computing and Fault Tolerance (TCFT) and by the IFIP Working Group 10.4 on Dependable Computing and Fault Tolerance (WG 10.4).
The award has a monetary value and João is invited to give a talk at the DSN, the largest conference on dependability, about his dissertation.
