Gilda Ferreira, LASIGE PhD collaborator and CEMS.UL integrated member, was Chair of the Program Committee of the 21st edition of the International Conference Computability in Europe (CiE), hosted by Ciências ULisboa, from July 14 to 18, 2025.
This conference is part of the annual series promoted by the Association CiE, which aims to advance and disseminate both fundamental and applied research in areas related to computability — including mathematics, computer science, logic, computational biology, as well as the history and philosophy of computing.
André Souto and Mattia Petrollo, both integrated members of LASIGE, also contributed to this event, being, respectively, part of the Organizing Committee and co-organizer of the special session ‘AI in Human Context: Foundational, Historical, and Computational Perspectives’.
This year’s edition brought together 138 researchers from 29 countries, fostering a stimulating environment for the exchange and discussion of high-level scientific ideas. The event was supported by several institutions, with contributions from various partners — among them, two research centers from Ciências ULisboa: CEMS.UL-Center for Mathematical Studies, and LASIGE Computer Science and Engineering Research Centre.
