António Casimiro, leader of the Cyber-Physical Systems research line of LASIGE, was appointed by Ciências to integrate the Board (Conselho de Administração) of FCiências.ID, and then elected as one of the FCiências.ID Executive Commission members. The appointment if for a 4-years term (2025-2028).

FCiências.ID – Associação para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento de Ciências, is a private association of which Ciências is one of the associates, whose objective is to foster and support the research activities of its associates. FCiências.ID is the legal representative of 20 research units, one of which is LASIGE. The relation between FCiências.ID and Ciências is governed by several agreements, one of which allows Ciências to act as third party and supply resources for the execution of R&D projects contracted by FCiências.ID. FCiências.ID is fully responsible for these projects, which are scientifically coordinated by LASIGE researchers.

In his new role, António Casimiro will be co-responsible for the high-level management of FCiências.ID, contributing to defining strategies and improving the operation of FCiências.ID, namely in supporting its associates and, more directly, all researchers that it serves.
