Cátia Pesquita, Vice-Director of LASIGE, was elected to the Scientific Council of Ciências ULisboa (CIÊNCIAS) in February 2025, as part of the “UC – Unidos por Ciências” list. She is joined by Alysson Bessani (LASIGE Director) and Tiago Guerreiro (LASIGE Vice-Director), who were also elected to serve on the council.

The Scientific Council is the body responsible for scientific governance at CIÊNCIAS, defining strategies and policies to maximise the scientific, pedagogical, and career development potential of its academic and research staff.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on April 7, 2025, at the Rectory of the University of Lisbon (ULisboa). In his address to the newly appointed council members, ULisboa Rector Luís Ferreira expressed appreciation for their commitment to academic governance and wished them success in strengthening the university’s scientific excellence.
