LASIGE participates in ICSE 2026 with two papers

Date: 20/04/2026

LASIGE researchers presented two papers at co-located International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) conferences in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 12-18 April 2026: one at SEAMS (Software Engineering for Adaptive and Self-Managing Systems), and another at MSR (Mining Software Repositories).

Miguel Catarro, Luís Pinto, and Alan Oliveira published the paper RAMNA: A Resource-Aware Algorithm for Maximizing Availability in Flying Ad-Hoc Networks, presenting a rule-based self-optimizing algorithm that maximizes network availability by autonomously repositioning UAVs at runtime, focusing on optimization and adaptation in distributed and dynamic systems.

Ruben Branco, Paulo Canelas, Catarina Gamboa, and Alcides Fonseca presented their work LGTM! Characteristics of Auto-Merged LLM-based Agentic PRs, analyzing an industry trend of merging agent-written code directly into the codebase without waiting for human reviews.

Both teams represented LASIGE, and together, the two papers span four of LASIGE’s research lines: LGTM contributes to Reliable Software Systems and Data and Systems Intelligence, while RAMNA bridges Cyber-Physical Systems and Dependable and Secure Decentralized Systems.
