João Mendes, LASIGE PhD Student, was awarded the Best Poster Prize at the 1st ‘Innovation in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering: Synergies and Challenges’ Forum, organized by the recently created Medicine and Biomedical Engineering Section of the Lisbon Society of Medical Sciences (SCMED) on 24 September 2024.

His work entitled ‘Artificial Intelligence predicts breast cancer risk in 3 years’ is co-authored by the researchers Nuno Garcia, LASIGE integrated member, and Nuno Matela (IBEB).

This event represents a unique opportunity to explore synergies between medicine and biomedical engineering, promoting dialogue and innovation in these fundamental areas for the advancement of health.
