LASIGE @ PLDI’25 in Seoul

Date: 04/07/2025

Catarina Gamboa and Eduardo Madeira, LASIGE students and researchers, participated in the Conference on Programming Language Design and Implementation (PLDI 2025) in Seoul, South Korea.

Catarina was presenting her paper “Usability Barriers for Liquid Types”, and Eduardo was part of the Audio Visual team, helping with all the streaming and video recording of the conference to make it available for everyone to watch in the future.

Catarina mentioned that “PLDI is a great conference where you find people who mix theory and have actually implemented these amazing tools that you can try and actually use! I’m also very happy that they accept work in the intersection of Programming Languages and Human Factors, since we need developers to tell us what they want improved so we can focus our research in those areas.”

Eduardo also shares the same positive experience, by his words: “It was an amazing experience to be part of the AV committee for PLDI 2025! The conference is an incredible opportunity to discover interesting research projects, and being in South Korea made the experience even more special. Amazing culture, amazing people, amazing research… and, of course, amazing food!”
