LASIGE has had five projects selected for funding under the 2024 FCT Call for Exploratory Research Projects (PeX), covering all scientific fields. This call was highly competitive, with a provisional success rate of 16%, based on the number of applications received.

The Principal Investigators for the selected projects are Isabel Neto, João Guerreiro, Rúben Gouveia, Soraia Meneses Alarcão, and Wellington Oliveira. Each project will receive a maximum funding amount of €60,000 for a duration of 18 months.

The goal of the exploratory research projects call is to provide funding for original projects led by early-career researchers, as well as for innovative ideas or concepts that demonstrate significant novelty and disruptive potential, particularly in comparison to previous work by more experienced researchers.
