LASIGE’s integrated researcher Alysson Bessani participated in the invitation-only Workshop on New Software Abstractions for Hardware Security Technology, that took place on October 1 to 4, in Switzerland. The event gathers cybersecurity experts to discuss the open challenges in software systems research related to new hardware security technologies.

The workshop aims to pave the research agenda for the next 5 to 10 years. The discussion focused both on the securing of existing legacy applications and system software and on the development of new secure applications from scratch. The participants were invited to explore new ideas and strategies for creating abstractions, methodologies, platforms and building blocks to enable a new generation of trustworthy and secure software systems based on hardware security technologies.

Alysson Bessani had the opportunity to present a short presentation titled “Decentralized Confidential Computing”.
