Teresa Chambel was invited, with two other Professors from the FCUL Informatics Department, Pedro Veiga and Luís Correia, to participate as invited speakers at the first E-Tech Portugal conference, held in early June 2016, in Setúbal, Portugal.
Teresa Chambel participated in the panel gathered around the topic “As TICE têm Sexo ?” (Does ICT have gender ?), with the objective to raise the awareness and interest of the Portuguese society about the importance of the participation and success of women in the area of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
The aim of this E-Tech initiative, organized by E-Code (School of Programming), Associação Nacional de Professores de Informática (National Association of Informatics Teachers) and Coligação Portuguesa para a Empregabilidade Digital (Portuguese Coalition for Digital Employability), was to “promote and disseminate the digital area as an area of the future, promoting digital employability as well as ICT as an engine of development, both in education and training, and in employment”.
