The 7th meeting of the VAPrevention project took place on January 11, 2024, at Ciências ULisboa. All members of the consortium attended the meeting, which aimed to provide updates on ongoing tasks. The consortium comprises researchers from LASIGE (integrated researchers João Balsa da Silva, Ana Paula Cláudio, and Maria Beatriz do Carmo), members of the Egas Moniz Center for Interdisciplinary Research, the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Human Performance, the Comprehensive Health Research Center, and the Center for Research, Innovation, and Development in Nursing of Lisbon.
The VAPREVENTION project addresses the scientific challenge of preventing Type 2 Diabetes and aims to achieve two key objectives. Firstly, it seeks to create a unique digital intervention that focuses on the prevention of type 2 diabetes in high-risk adults. This intervention will be grounded in evidence and theory, and it will employ a person-centered approach. Secondly, the project will evaluate the effectiveness, implementation, and cost-effectiveness of this intervention in real-world contexts. You can find more information on the project’s official webpage.
