The LASIGE Executive Committee has been encouraging and supporting its researchers in the areas of innovation and technology transfer, key pillars linking the academia to society and industry, by promoting initiatives such as strengthening ties with Tec Labs Centro de Inovação, the catalyzer of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of CIÊNCIAS ULisboa.

Therefore, on 18 March 2026, Inês Neto (Tec Labs) led the workshop ‘Claim It Before You Publish It: Understanding Technology Transfer & the Invention Disclosure Process at Ciências’, aiming to provide a comprehensive overview of technology transfer within the Faculty, delineating the internal process that transitions research outputs to protection and their potential impact, developing a clear understanding of the Invention Disclosure process, which represents the initial step in CIÊNCIAS’ innovation journey.

This session captivated the audience (around 40 participants) and a number of questions were asked, all of which were thoroughly answered. Inês Neto also recommended a careful and detailed reading of the relevant manual.
