João Pedro Carvalho, LASIGE integrated members, was one of the organizers of the final of the Technovation Girls Challenge Portugal, which was held at Ciências ULisboa on 23 May 2025, in Lisbon.

Alysson Bessani (Department of Informatics Director), António Casimiro (Deputy Director of the Ciências ULisboa), and Sara Silva, integrated members of LASIGE, also cooperated in the event, inspiring the participants.

In this edition 245 girls participated, aged between 8 and 18, 70 mentors and 28 judges, with a total of 76 projects presented. In total, the event attracted around 400 participants, including young people, family members, mentors and judges.

The Technovation Girls Challenge Portugal Programme is coordinated by Happy Code, a technology school whose mission is to train young people in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).
