Eyes4Access Workshop @ ETRA 2026

Date: 03/06/2026

Carlos Duarte, LASIGE integrated member, co-organized the second edition of the Eyes4Access Workshop – “New Frontiers of Eye Tracking in Accessible Interaction and Communication”, held at ETRA 2026 in Marrakech, Morocco, on June 1-4, 2026.

The workshop brought together an interdisciplinary community of researchers, practitioners, and students working at the intersection of eye-tracking research and accessibility, exploring inclusive technologies, interaction techniques, and real-world applications across digital media, education, and culture. The program featured a keynote by Paweł Kasprowski (Silesian University of Technology) on the chaotic dynamics of eye movements, alongside two sessions of scientific contributions and a lively closing discussion on the field’s emerging directions.

The best paper award went to “Eye-Tracking-Controlled Social Gameplay in Virtual Reality for Distance Learners”, by Alžběta Šašinková, František Holubec, and Čeněk Šašinka (Masaryk University), recognized for its participatory co-design approach and its inventive reframing of the classic Midas Touch problem as a collaborative gameplay mechanic.

Eyes4Access was co-organized by Carlos Duarte together with Krzysztof Krejtz and Izabela Krejtz (SWPS University), Ann Marcus-Quinn (University of Limerick), and Chris Hughes (Keele University).
