This week, between October 26 and 28, occurred the ASSETS2020: the 22nd International ACM SIGACCESS Conference on Computers and Accessibility, the most relevant event for the research LASIGE line: Accessibility and Ageing.
This year LASIGE had very strong participation: Tiago Guerreiro was the General Chair, André Rodrigues was the Student Research Competition Chair, João Guerreiro was the Posters & Demonstrations Chair, André Santos was the Accessibility Chair, and Sérgio Alves was Web Chair. The team was also reinforced by the support of several volunteer students: Diogo Branco, Lúcia Abreu, Marta Carvalho, Pedro Melo, Pedro Russo, and Maria Silva.
All live presentations had sign interpretation (ASL and BSL), and live captioning presentations were pre-recorded and subtitled, and were available to participants one week before, during, and after the conference, as well as the slides, and accessible PDFs. The organization also supported 50 people with free registrations (diversity & inclusion scholarships).
LASIGE sponsored the User Panel, which had 8 guests with pre-recorded videos and 4 people participating in the panel. This event was also sponsored by Apple, IBM Research, Microsoft Research, and Facebook.
