LASIGE researchers André Rodrigues and João Guerreiro, along with PhD student David Gonçalves, were present at Lisboa Games Week, the largest video game and entertainment event in Portugal!
The event took place in Lisbon from November 20 to 23 and is the biggest national celebration of gaming and the creative industries. It featured scientific, artistic, and cultural programming that connected video games with medical simulation, accessibility, design, linguistics, mathematics, and science fiction.
Visitors to the ULisboa space had the opportunity to play, test, and experience new approaches to gaming and technology, many of which stemmed from our team’s research.
The researchers also delivered talks on various topics, including the gaming experiences of blind individuals, accessibility in virtual reality, and the structures of cooperative games. The talks were as follows:
– André Rodrigues (November 20, 2025) – “Cooperative Game Structures”
– David Gonçalves (November 23) – “How Do Blind Gamers Play?”
– João Guerreiro (November 23) – “Virtual Reality Games Accessible to Blind People”
