LASIGE participated in the workshop “Digital & Autonomous Technologies – Opportunities for Society and Research”, held on April 7, 2026, in Lisbon, as part of the Unite! Widening initiative. The event took place at the TTC@ULisboa in a hybrid format, bringing together national and European experts.

The workshop addressed the impact of digital and autonomous technologies on society and research, with a focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, knowledge valorization, and technological innovation.

The opening and moderation were led by Luís Correia (LASIGE Integrated Member). During the pitch sessions, João Pedro Carvalho (LASIGE Integrated Member) presented his scientific contributions and ongoing collaborations with industry in domains such as drones, remote sensing, unmanned vehicles, and indoor mobility systems. These activities highlight LASIGE’s engagement in applied research and technology transfer in emerging autonomous systems.

The session also featured Henrique Moniz (Finisterra Labs and former LASIGE member), who delivered the presentation “Context is all you need” about their product: Baselight.

The event included networking moments, culminating in a joint lunch where a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to establish an Open Innovation Community, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and international partners.

LASIGE’s presence in this workshop reinforces its strategic positioning in key areas such as intelligent systems, autonomous technologies, and digital innovation, contributing actively to the European research and innovation ecosystem.
