LASIGE was invited by Direção Geral do Ensino Superior (DGES, Directorate-General for Higher Education) to participate in the “Study and Research in Portugal” initiative, to support the promotion and dissemination of Portuguese higher education, institutions, and national educational offer.

This international promotion intends to assist higher education institutions attracting international students and researchers, promote Portuguese higher education and facilitate the establishment of partnerships and strategic cooperation, as well as intensify the activities developed abroad in this context.

Our researchers answered to this challenge and shared their experiences. Naércio Magaia, from Mozambique, a Ciências ULisboa teacher and a LASIGE researcher shared the following (testimony #4):

"I came to Portugal in 2008 and since then I have done my Masters and PhD. Through these, I gained knowledge, maturity and autonomy in scientific research. I was also able to participate in international events, which allowed me to create a global network of contacts. Currently, and as a result of this training, I come on a daily basis doing what I like, which is to increase the boundaries of knowledge in my scientific field."
