Robust and reliable image processing based on CNNs for safe robot navigationDescription
The RobustSAR project seeks to establish and strengthen a collaborative research network in control theory, mobile robotics, networking, and artificial intelligence. The initiative brings together two partner institutions: the University of Lisbon and TU Bergakademie Freiberg. At its core, the project leverages a robotic platform currently under development to explore new methods for enhancing the robustness of image segmentation and classification using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Its ultimate goal is to enable reliable, trust-based robotic navigation in environments where information may be uncertain.
The project is funded under the Portugal-Germany Bilateral Cooperation 2024 programme.
