LASIGE researchers participated in Biblio Gamers 2025, a video game event held in the libraries of Lisbon. This year, in its fourth edition, Biblio Gamers focused on an often-overlooked topic: the relationship between the digital world of video games and people with disabilities.
Integrated researcher André Rodrigues and PhD students David Gonçalves and Pedro Trindade were part of the session at Biblioteca de Alcântara, on September 21, 2025. David Gonçalves delivered a lecture on the challenges and strategies for developing games for blind people and the team showcased their work, allowing the attendees to experiment with adapted video games for people with disabilities.
The team develop work at LASIGE in the Research Line of Excellence Inclusive Human-Computer Interaction and has recently presented their research on digital gaming for a mixed-ability audience in CHI 2025.
