LASIGE @ “Feitos do Futuro”

Date: 25/05/2026

On 23 May 2026, at “Feitos do Futuro”, the University of Lisbon was transformed into a living laboratory where people could step into virtual realities, programme robots, explore the human body, or listen to the ocean like in ways they have never done before. Isabel Neto and João Pereira, LASIGE integrated member and an MSc student, respectively, represented LASIGE in this event, welcoming the community.

Children and adults alike explored how robots work, how our researchers can programme them, and how to design our interactions with them to create a more inclusive society where everyone is involved.

The LASIGE accessible kit, developed by Filipa Rocha, which aims to be inclusive and used in classrooms by blind and visually impaired children alongside neurodivergent and neurotypical children, was a success, with children aged 4 to 100 programming robots! 🙂

The social robots, QTrobot and Reachy mini, also allowed our visitors to explore what movements and behaviours we might see in the future of robotics.

It was also an opportunity to explore ideas from other Research and Development Centres and to showcase a variety of knowledge needed to be open to society, to encourage the joy of scientific discovery and creation.

Thank you to everyone. We look forward to seeing you next year!

Just have a glance at how it was:
