LASIGE researchers have once again been featured in the top 2% list of the world’s most-cited scientists, which was compiled at Stanford University (USA) and published in Elsevier BV. The database aggregates the top 2 percent scientists of the world from different fields based on standardized citation indications. The data is presented for career-long and recent single-year impact. The database was published on October 4, 2023.
Vasco T. Vasconcelos, for the third year in a row, Alysson Bessani, for the second year in a row, and Cátia Pesquita, for the first time, were featured on the list of the top 2% most cited authors throughout their careers.
Alysson Bessani and Cátia Pesquita were also featured, for the fourth and third time in a row, respectively, on the top 2% most cited authors annual list (concerning the year 2022).
Vasconcelos’ research area is Reliable Software Systems, Bessani’s is Resilient Distributed and Networked Systems, and Pesquita’s are Health and Biomedical Informatics and Data and Systems Intelligence.
According to the most recent study published by Elsevier, Ciências ULisboa has 26 researchers ranked in the “World’s Top 2% Scientists”, which demonstrates the relevance of the centenary institution. The career list includes 572 researchers affiliated with Portuguese institutions. Ciências ULisboa is among the ten best Portuguese institutions, and is the seventh institution with the most researchers in this ranking.
