LASIGE researchers featured on 2024 Stanford’s University top 2% most-cited authors

Researchers at LASIGE are, again, featured in the top 2% list of the world’s most-cited scientists. This information is annualy compiled by Stanford University (USA) and published by Elsevier BV and highlights the top 2% of scientists globally across various fields, based on standardized citation metrics. It presents data for both career-long and single-year impact. The 2024 database was published on September 16, 2024.

Vasco T. Vasconcelos, for the fourth successive year, Alysson Bessani, for the third successive year, and Cátia Pesquita, for the second successive year, were featured on the list of the top 2% most cited authors throughout their careers.
Alysson Bessani was also featured, for the fifth in a row, on the top 2% most cited authors annual list (concerning the year 2023).

Vasconcelos’ research main area is Reliable Software Systems, Bessani’s is Dependable and Secure Decentralized Systems, and Pesquita’s are Health and Biomedical Informatics and Data and Systems Intelligence.

According to the most recent study published by Elsevier, Ciências ULisboa has a total of 28 researchers ranked in the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” databses, which demonstrates the relevance of the centenary institution. The career list includes 633 researchers affiliated with Portuguese institutions. Ciências ULisboa continues to be among the ten best Portuguese institutions.
